Other Information
Policy: USA Membership
Every wrestler is required to have a USA Membership to participate in practices and Metro League Tournaments. The membership must be affiliated with Aloha Mat Club.
Do not sign up for this membership for your wrestler. This will be done by the club. If you already have a membership, please contact the coaching staff and be prepared to change the affiliation to Aloha Mat Club.
Policy: Parents/Guardians at Practice
- Parents/guardians of younger wrestlers: Wrestlers age 5 and below must have a caretaker (16 or older) at practice to assist with the needs of younger children. If your child needs additional support who is 6 and older, we ask that you have someone available at practice to support them.
- Restroom
- General care
- Parents of older wrestlers: Parents may stay at practice the first week to see what practice looks like. After this, we ask that parents stay out of the wrestling room during practice.
Policy: Attending Tournaments
To be eligible for tournament participation, wrestlers must attend practice at least twice per week. This policy supports:
- Wrestler safety
- Team cohesion
- Fairness within the Metro League
Exceptions may be made on a week-to-week basis, but only after discussion with the head coach.
Additionally, only Aloha coaching staff may coach wrestlers during tournaments. Parents or non-Aloha coaches may not provide instruction unless they have received explicit permission from the head coach and have a valid USA Wrestling card.
Wrestling Shoes
Make sure to get wrestling shoes for the season. Shoes are not required but are highly recommended. We have a limited supply of loaner shoes. Wrestlers without shoes must wrestle in their socks.
